The Computer and Communication Networks technology unit represents the main reference point in the field of computer networks within the Research Area of Pisa, the largest CNR research area in Italy. With a strong focus on cybersecurity, the unit's personnel is primarily involved in the secure management of the telematics and telecommunications infrastructure, providing cutting-edge services to the personnel of institutes and organizations within the Research Area of Pisa.

Additionally, the unit actively collaborates with the scientific community and Italian public administrations in various research and technology transfer projects. The unit's personnel also participates in teaching activities, working closely with the Department of Information Engineering at the University of Pisa to offer advanced courses in cybersecurity and networking.
